Reggae gets you nowhere, son

My old friend Bill – you may know of him as he owns Microsoft – once told me that the enemy of success is nothing. And I know what he means – as doing nothing does nothing for anyone.
And it will do nothing for you and your business. You need to do things to make things happen in business – and the same is true of life in general.
Sitting around waiting will not bring you success so get off your ass – what are you waiting for? Life doesn’t owe you a living.
This is what I tell my youngest Pablo every day as he insists on listening to his reggae music. I tell him: ‘Pablo, reggae will not bring you millions – hard work will!’
I won’t let him sit around waiting for his inherited pay day. He replied with some quip about Bob Marley but I’d prefer to have Bill as my friend. Once more, what happened to Bob Marley? Point proved.
So hail that cab today, get in it and get on your way… to success!

Invest in China and China will invest in you

We are all mystified by that large country with a billion or so people at the other side of the world. It’s getting big and so big that we can’t control it anymore – not even by force.

But these guys are making stuff – lots of stuff and a load of money at the same time. And hey, maybe it’s time for me to play that ball game!

Those were my very thoughts five years ago. I wasn’t sure about China but by my curiosity drew me in and I wanted to gain a ticket to the game.

But it wasn’t easy – you had to earn the trust of Chinese investors. I booked a ticket out to Shanghai and I pitched like hell trying to get these guys to believe in my dreams. Maybe a little was lost in translation but I pulled out a dollar bill and promised I could transform it into a million dollar bills but only with their help.

I am not a man to boast – but let’s just say it happened and we won big. In return, I now have a vast array of Chinese links and they are more than willing to return “my magic” with financial rewards.

So why not? Reach for the stars and book that ticket.

This is where it all begins – welcome to business joy

So I was walking down the street the other day and I thought – yes, I can make a difference.

Let’s face it, we are living a business hell at the moment as turmoil sweeps across our beloved nation. The time to act is now and it is right to be positive and strong.

Hence, I’ve created this blog and I will be giving free advice on how to transform pitiful, pathetic and shoddy businesses into blossoming multinational corporate beasts.
